Colectivos will run about 40 pesos a person, and a taxi from either town will cost about 250-300 pesos each way. Xpu-Ha is located about 30km south of Playa del Carmen between Puerto Aventuras and Akumal. Take the 307 Highway South from Playa del Carmen and look out for signs for Xpu-Ha. There are a few roads that lead off to the beach. You will want to take the forth exit (Calle 14 Norte) which leads directly down to the beach. The choice of accommodation options is very limited in Xpu-ha, with rooms' fares ranging from US$60 to US$500 per night. So the best is to visit this place as a day trip destination, while stay in the hotel of Playa del Carmen.

However, if renting a car in Mexico isn’t your thing, a taxi can easily bring you to Xpu Ha, they all will know right where to drop you off. Taxi is also a good way to get to Xpu Ha Beach. There will also be taxis waiting down the road when you leave the beach. Prices vary depending on where you are coming from and even what time of day.
